About Anchored Connection

At Anchored Connection, I'm passionate about walking alongside families to cultivate connection and communication that will stand the test of time. If there are generational patterns that aren't serving you as parents, we will work through them to create new, healthier patterns. My deepest desire is to help you become the anchor and harbor for your kids as they grow up.

My Story

I grew up in an authoritarian home where there was safety and security, but I felt the pressure to be a clone of my parents. As I grew older, straying from their expectations led to feelings of shame and I wasn't doing the right thing. Fast forward to myself as a mother, I felt stuck in a rut, felt overwhelmed, and reacted to my children's behavior. I wasn't the present and connected parent I wanted to be but didn't know how. I want to help parents foster an environment where kids obey because they *want* to, understanding the value behind boundaries while being supported in the growth of their own identity. It's my desire to support deep connection and authentic communication where it thrives. I'm here to help you be the parent that you want to be for your kids and where they want to come home to you no matter what age they are.

Parents I Help

I work with parents navigating major transitions, helping them re-establish safety and connection with their children. I specialize in supporting families no matter the age, but as a parent of teens now, I understand the challenging teen years, when friends, activities, social media, and increasing independence can often interfere with genuine connection. I provide extra support to parents who want to be their best selves while their children are experiencing significant emotional, social, and physical changes.

As a former pre-primary and elementary educator, I also partner with daycare and school staff, equipping them with brain- and nervous system-informed strategies to better understand and meet the needs of the children in their care. I have a special heart for those young ones. Through practical tools and a relationship-centered approach, I help educators create safe, connected environments where both children and adults can thrive.

My Unique Approach

My coaching is rooted in the principles of the Jai Institute of Parenting: "Our children’s behavior is a direct reflection of their needs (met or unmet) and our triggers (expressed consciously or expressed unconsciously). When we change, our children’s behavior changes. Without exception." I offer a transformational experience for parents, helping you release old patterns and beliefs, replacing them with empowering ones that support your best parenting. My strategies are grounded in Attachment and Nervous System Science, the Brain Science work of Daniel Siegel, Non-Violent Communication, Emotional Intelligence, and the Neuroplasticity work of Dr. Bruce Lipton. This approach aligns with social-emotional learning and helped me implement these strategies both in schools and home.
